the first of four

I will be sitting the first examination of the second semester today. It begins with Unit 3 of Government and Politics.

The examinable areas that I have prepared are the electoral and constitutional reforms made in the UK since the inception of the Labour party in 1997. While exam questions for the former topic are straightforward and usually anticipated, the latter is the more challenging one.

Constitutional reform focuses on two aspects: constitutional and parliamentary reform. The former encompasses areas such as devolution, the Human Right Act 1998, as well as impacts of electoral reforms on UK politics. The latter touches on reforms proposed, or already made, to the House of Commons and Lords. The analysis of the reform on the House of Lords is usually the area of exam emphasis.

Having prepared for this particular unit long before the rest, I am very confident that I can achieve high scores. Good luck to me!
