Resolution '07

On every new year's day, I tend to create a list of resolutions, mentally, which I hope to attain before the following year ended. However, more often than not, I would concede effortlessly every time before the deadline; the lack of perseverance, motivation and discipline are the main causes. With that in mind, I intend to make this year an exception. I want 2007 to be a year of changes, improvements and excellence. The main priorities for 2007 include quitting smoking, acing the 'AS' level exams, gaining admission into UOL to read law, exercising, and eradicating acne. It is noteworthy that the order does not in any way reflect the importance placed upon it.

Smoking used to be my favourite mistake and quitting the activity has been a major priority over the past few years. After many failed attempts to abstain from smoking, I am proud to say that it is no longer a threat to me now, although at times I am easily tempted to light one. I have to constantly remind myself of its downside.

Academic wise, I have decided to take eighteen months to complete 'A' levels as I believe it would be sufficient in developing my legal skills before proceeding to undergradute studies. Excelling in the exams should not be a problem as the modules are split into three parts; contrary to KATC, both the AS and A2 exams are taken in one shot.

One thing leads to the other, assuming that the above go as planned I would have achieved, at the least, fifty percent of admission into UOL for the LL.B programme.

Scientifically, it is proven that exercise is essential for our mental and physical wellbeing. And having said that, twice a week will be spent 'gyming' and jogging in the park.

My significant other had been overly supportive and I will always be grateful for her kind generosity. Having spent a significant amount, I was inundated with some of the best face care products to combat the perpetuating acne problem. By my standards, our next reunion should not anticipate anymore breakouts.

The strategies above may seem idealistic but I am confident that I will achieve each and every resolution by 2008. I used to think that it was impossible to achieve resolutions, but now I fight the impossible. More often than not, the most difficult, impossible and unthinkable challenges are not the things above; it is yourself. You are your greatest challenge. Learn to 'win' yourself first before winning others.
