Much ado about everything!

Personally, it is a great disappointment to discover that my last entry on this blog was close to six months ago. Pursuant to that period numerous incidents have taken place which usually brings about several thoughts in my mind which I have been longing to put down in words. Despite the aforesaid, I often find myself doing nothing but procrastinate. This chronic and unforgivable state of procrastination is something that is dominating my life.

Academically, my attendance has been dismal. Of the four lectures and tutorials each week, I was absent half the time. On top of that, I have never done furthering readings nor prepare for any tutorials. Domestically, daily chores like washing the dishes and laundry are almost always not done. If it were, it would require a lifetime later to carry out. Relationship-wise, I some times find myself incredulously lazy and/or tired to meet up with my significant other.

On hindsight, the activities which I seem to perform consistently and without procrastination are downloading and viewing materials on my laptop, consuming alcohol and cigarettes, and asking for an obscene amount of money from each of my family members to fund the latter. How sad and disappointing is that!

Having said the above, I am writing this entry in the hopes of changing such a lifestyle. To begin, I am going to list out the issues that have been on my mind which I would like to write on. They include most of my new year's resolutions, as well as, some new ones.

1. Losing weight

For as long as I can remember, I have always had a presentable physique. This was most apparent during my school days as I was an above the average sportsmen. I miss those days. It is quite unfortunate that as we age, our Basal Metabolism Rate (BMR) falls. The BMR is the number of calories that the body burns each day during rest and when the digestive system is inactive. In light of this, it has become imperative that I adopt a lifestyle with some exercising.

2. Smoking and alcohol consumption

Enough said, as there have been enough negative points mentioned on this issue, save for the fact that if no action is taken in the immediate future, my 'man-ly welfare' will be adversely affected.

3. First Class Honours

That is the said with the aim of becoming a better student in class. This encompasses a healthy attendance for lectures, adequate preparation for tutorials and taking the initiative to undertake further readings.

4. Healthy cashflow

It is time to save for those rainy days.

5. Blogging

I need to write more on current affairs with the aim of sharpening my thinking skills and general knowledge. I am a person who highly dislikes not having the last word when engaging in an intellectual discourse and hopefully this will reduce those instances.

6. Catching Up

Since my return to Kuala Lumpur, friends locally and abroad have expressed their concern about my status quo. I must make an effort to keep in touch with them as they have done so for me. That is what being friends is about, I guess.

To conclude this neverending entry, I would like to say I am confident in achieving some of the objectives abovementioned.
