Of late, I found myself greatly enthralled with the said drama series. Having seen bits and pieces of the show on TV and through per episode downloads, I finally downloaded the first and second season to satisfy my cravings.
In short, 'nip/tuck' revolves around the professional and personal lives of two plastic surgeons struggling to survive in an ever competitive environment. Apart from having to constantly resist temptations of materialism, greed and lust - moral and ethical considerations are touched upon as well.
As superficial as I may sound, I have thoroughly enjoyed the mild sex scenes; all thanks to Christian Troy's bachelor lifestyle, there is always an attractive young woman featured in every episode. However, what appeals to me the most is that, much of the plot reveals the darker side of human beings: the desperate need to achieve a perfect physical appearance. While each episode focuses on a patient who suffers from some form physical inadequacy or deformity, it never fails to highlight the realistic graphical elements of surgical operations, which I find a great deterrent to those intending to seek plastic surgery for materialistic purposes.
At present, I have finished watching the first season and have just started on the next. The climax, in the former season, was when T&M were deeply troubled by a druglord who was coercing them to conduct unethical and immoral surgical operations on female drug traffickers. The druglord was later brought to justice which led to the end of the season.
I wonder how the plot will thicken in the next season.
