Of late, I discovered a music sharing website called Jamendo.
What is unique and differentiating about the said website is that all the music is produced by independent artists, which I have found to be of exceptional quality.
Having not been a major fan of commercialized music, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and originality of songs.
My only criticism is the search engine. As one of the only means of locating and navigating through an abundance of songs is to organize them by its genre, the search engine often produces 'mixed' results. For instance, when I type 'hiphop' into the search column, the results I receive would be a combination of 'hiphop' and another genre like 'electro'.
Nonetheless, it is definitely worth a visit if you are sick and tired of commercial music repeated endlessly over the mainstream media channels.
